Telemedicine

Picture
Kaniksu Health Services is committed to protecting the health and safety of our patients, staff, and community.  In an effort to do our part to help slow the spread of COVID-19, Kaniksu Health Services is pleased to announce that we are now offering telemedicine appointments for certain appointment types.

What is Telemedicine?
Telemedicine is the use of telecommunication technologies (i.e. a phone, computer, handheld device) to evaluate, diagnose and care for patients at a distance for approved medical or behavioral health visits.  Telemedicine is appropriate for many primary care and follow-up visits.

Why Telemedicine?
Telehealth allows providers to remotely monitor patients, as well as conduct appointments such as routine patient checks, medication refills, and Annual Wellness Visits - all without person-to-person contact.
You can do the visit from anywhere that you feel offers you enough privacy, and connectivity (cell reception, wifi, etc).  Telemedicine also lets you see your provider while managing your many other responsibilities.

How do I pay for Telemedicine?
Your visit will be billed to your insurance, just like any other visit.

If you want to know if a telehealth appointment is right for you, contact your clinic at:
Ponderay, (208) 265-6252
Priest River, (208) 448-2321
Bonners Ferry, (208) 267-1718
Sandpoint Pediatrics, (208) 265-2242

All of our telemedicine appoints are held via Doximity.  Below are some helpful instructions for using the program.  When you schedule your first telemedicine appointment, the instructions will also be emailed to you.

If you have any problems with Doximity, please visit
