Kaniksu Health Services is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center whose mission is to provide quality  affordable and accessible care.  Serving the residents of Bonner and Boundary counties, with clinic locations in:
  • Bonners Ferry
  • Ponderay
  • Priest River
  • Sandpoint Pediatrics
  • Sandpoint VA Clinic
Our goal is to help you and the people you love most stay healthy or return to good health.  Since our first family health center opened in 2002, Kaniksu Health Services has provided our patients with timely, affordable and quality care; because to us, they are not just people in a waiting room.  They are part of our family.
Our services are open to everyone, including those facing barriers elsewhere, such as the uninsured, migrant and seasonal farmworkers, those living in rural areas, and the homeless. We accept most insurances including Medicaid and Medicare.  A Sliding Discount Program is available for those meeting income guidelines.

Language services are available in all clinic locations.  Medically trained interpreters are available via phone to assist patients with their healthcare questions.

Kaniksu Health Services an FTCA Deemed facility.  This health center receives Health and Human Services (HHS) funding and has Federal Public Health Service (PHS) deemed status with respect to certain health or health related claims, including medical/dental/behavioral health malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals​.
The Federally Supported Health Centers Assistance Act of 1992 and 1995 granted medical malpractice liability protection through the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) to HRSA-supported health centers. Under the Act, health centers are considered Federal employees and are immune from lawsuits, with the Federal government acting as their primary insurer.  More information is available here: http://www.bphc.hrsa.gov/ftca/about/index.html
